Rebooting Instagram and Rebooting this Website!
Contrarian. Sometimes it's intentional. Sometimes I just buck the trends for inexplicable reasons. I've had several reasons and excuses to skirt the Instagram trends.
Initially, it may have been the murky IG copyright debates. Then it was a choice not to play in the IG playground. By the time I took another look, Instagram was courting reel creators, and apparently not as interested in still image images, portraits, or even the creative still image makers. I went about my business elsewhere.
Many friends, colleagues and clients chose to stay on Instagram. While Instagram wasn't too helpful for my past business model, it sure was fun. I stalked and scouted. I didn't post, even though, as a photographer, it's generally assumed that I'd keep a portfolio here, whether I wanted to or not. People had looked me up here, only to find dated images, some were even early iPhone shots.
So, the time has come for me to play in the same Instagram playground. I'm lacing up my sneakers and going to join in a little during recess. I'm just not going to make IG my week's work. Thanks for all you regular contributors for the goodness that you post. Yes, there is some good! Not everyone is a keyboard warrior. Many of you have entertained, educated, inquired, and enlightened. Thanks for adding your goodness to this water cooler. I hope you find what you're looking for here, and also recognize that's there's much more goodness within you and also out in the world when we dare to pause to see.
I will have two or maybe even three handles here. For now I'm sticking with @connkennphoto (though my website URLs will be different), and I'll soon be adding Seeing Goodness content at @seeing.goodness. (We have a group already on Facebook at the Seeing Goodness Community. We're also on Clubhouse. Join us and join in. We'd love to hear your voice and insights. I may be adding another IG handle for photographic works, in addition to this one. A new studio inspires new vistas :-) and I'll be announcing a new studio very soon. :-)
Have fun here. Hope to see you in real life someday soon. And please, reach out if I can partner with you on a project or support you here. If you've read this far you really are a true friend! Thank you! 🧡💛🧡
